Richard grew up in Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa and while he has lived in the UK since
1999, visits South Africa regularly and was introduced to U-turn through a close friend
actively engaged pastorally with the U-turn team in Cape Town.

His career was in IT Services as a business executive and is recently retired. He has a passion for the disadvantaged and dispossessed and focuses his social responsibility energies on supporting a Ukrainian refugee family and making multiple aid trips to Ukraine, as a Trustee of the Oakfield Community, a charity focused on the wellbeing and support of adults with severe autism and downs syndrome, and as a Trustee of U-turn Outreach assisting in raising the profile of U-turn to corporate and individual donors in the UK.
